Someday is Not a Day
I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “there are seven days in a week, someday isn’t one of them.” However, how often do we procrastinate things we should be doing or want to accomplish but we find ourselves thinking I’ll just do it tomorrow or next week or next month or maybe even next year? The truth is that tomorrow is not promised to anyone and sometimes we have difficult reminders, like the unexpected passing of a loved one that reminds us how fragile life is and that tomorrow isn’t promised to any of us.
This last week my beautiful mother-in-law passed away unexpectedly. It has been yet another reminder of how precious life really is and that we need to live each day with intention and purpose. Over the last five years I have lost my Grandma, my brother, my Dad and now my Mom-in-law….all of them have served as a reminder to me that life is indeed a gift and each day needs to be treated as such.
I know that may sound totally cliché, but it’s true. God has blessed us with this beautiful gift we call life. We aren’t here to just merely exist. We are here to accomplish great things. I believe God has things He wants us to accomplish but I also believe He wants us to dream big and then go take massive action to crush our goals.
We need to stop searching for that elusive “someday” on the calendar. We need to be more intentional about living our lives with clear vision, with a clear purpose and with clear intention. It’s the year 2020 or 20/20 and this is the year of clear vision. What do you want to start doing TODAY to get you an inch, a step or even a leap closer to something that you want to accomplish?
I’ve been thinking so much about the life of my mom (in-law). She’s been a part of my life for nearly 30 years. She made a tremendous impact on my life as she set an example of kindness, love and service and using her gifts to bless the lives of countless people. Yesterday as we had her funeral service we celebrated her incredible impact and the legacy she has left for her family to follow.
